Our client requires the services of an experienced Production Planner to work at its manufacturing facility base in Ellesmere Port.
This is a 12 months fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Starting in October 2020, the salary for this role will be £21,000 to £23,000 p/a depending on experience + shift allowance.
The Production Planner is responsible for producing daily manufacturing plans and working closely with the planning Assistant, Production Supervisors, Customer Services and Purchasing teams to ensure that customer needs are met, whilst ensuring that the manufacturing facilities run in an efficient manner.
The duties and responsibilities of the role include;
Assist in manufacturing products which are both safe and legal and to the expected quality standard of the customer.
Develop & manage production schedules using Epicor Tropos .
Maximise, challenge and sequence manufacturing work orders to deliver finished goods on time.
Balance production efficiency with customer requirements at all times
Ensure manufactured components are consumed within time frames set including raw materials.
Interact and liaise with the Factory Manager, Production Supervisors, Sales and Operations to ensure production schedules are executed.
Skills and experience required;
Experience using an ERP system, ideally MRP and scheduler, preferably in a multi BOM layer environment within the food manufacturing sector.
General understanding of supply chain and manufacturing operations.
High attention to detail.
Assertive character with the ability to question the obvious and communicate with senior management, production and other departments.
Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills, must be able to dissect and solve complex situations and be flexible enough to modify the plan to match changing business needs.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of health and safety, manual handling, good manufacturing practice (GMP), lean manufacturing practices such as 5S root cause analysis and have a food safety in manufacturing level 2 qualification.
